Resident Evil Village, stylised as RESIDENT EVIL VII.I.AGE, unofficially known as Resident Evil 8  is a first person Survival Horror title developed by Capcom. It was released on 7 May 2021. It is the first Resident Evil game for the ninth console generation.

The game is designed in a similar manner as 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, being a first person game with Survival Horror gameplay mechanics. Blocking can be used to reduce damage and Ethan now has the ability to push enemies away. Some enemies have been revealed. The Lycans are humanoid enemies with canine attributes, invoking a mutation comparable with werewolves. These enemies can hunt the player in packs to be more dangerous. They can also use melee weapons and ranged weapons to attack Ethan. A giant Lycan enemy will also support the other Lycans by utilizing a hammer to kill Ethan. There is also a pale zombie-like enemy found in the depths of the castle. They are slow, but can use melee weapons and group together to attack Ethan. Like Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, this game uses its own currency mechanic. In this case, it uses the Leu, the name of Romania and Moldova‘s respective currencies. The merchant returns in this game. Known as “The Duke”, he can sell weapons, ammo, healing items, and additional inventory space to Ethan. He can also upgrade Ethan’s weapons and cooks food based on ingredients given by Ethan.
